Group Talks and Tours

Exclusive talks and tours available for groups this winter

Organise an exclusive visit to the museum for your group when we’re closed to the general public this winter and choose from:

  • A short introduction to the history of the castle and some of its fascinating inhabitants, plus a chance to explore the whole museum with displays dedicated to not only Carisbrooke Castle but also a wide variety of Isle of Wight history topics from local archaeological treasures to childhood toys.
  • A talk about Charles I: The Captive King followed by an opportunity to view some of the treasures associated with the King on display within the museum.
  • A talk about Carisbrooke Characters, some of the castle’s most interesting inhabitants from the ‘Lady of the Wight’ Isabella de Fortibus to Queen Victoria’s youngest child and Governor of the Island Princess Beatrice. Followed by an opportunity to explore the whole museum.

All visits include tea and coffee refreshments with plenty of time to ask questions. Please note, these visits take place while the wider castle site is closed so are based in the museum only.

Daytime visits can be booked weekdays from November to February, subject to availability. Visits cost £10 per person (min. charge £100 per group), include refreshments and last up to 2hrs. All proceeds help fund the museum’s work in preserving and sharing the Island’s history.

To book your visit or for more information please call us on 01983 523112 or e-mail info@carisbrookecastlemuseum.org.uk
