Museum closure – Covid-19

English Heritage have announced they plan to close Carisbrooke Castle to the public at the end of business on Wed 18th March until, at least, 1st May.

As a result, Carisbrooke Castle Museum will be closed to the public for that period.  We have also taken the decision to suspend all our additional ‘out of hours’ activities – including our Insights events, Friends’ Talks, school and research visits and care home outreach programme until such time as the Castle re-opens.

We are sorry that we have had to take this decision: however, we feel it important that we fall in line with English Heritage and follow official government guidance with regard to prioritizing safety.

We aim to reschedule all our events and are happy to either refund, or carry over, all bookings according to our customers’ preferences.

The Museum intends to maintain a skeleton staff through this period and so will be able to respond to any questions that you may have.
