Museum Insight: Sand Pictures: An Isle of Wight craft

Tuesday 25th February, 2020, 2-4pm

This will be an opportunity to view sand pictures from the museum’s large collection, featuring the work of artists from the mid-19th century to the present day. Rosemary Cooper will give a talk on some of the Victorian sand artists represented in the collection, including their styles and techniques. Come and learn about the artists, the pictures, and this art form. We hope there will be chance to meet Island sand artist Eve Lester, and see examples of her work.

Museum Insights are a programme of special talks, designed to give local people an opportunity to find out more about the museum and its collection.

Tickets are £8 and include tea, coffee and biscuits.

Booking is essential. Call us on 523112, email info@carisbrookecastlemuseum.org.uk or book online (small fee applies).

All money raised helps support the work of the Museum.
