Carisbrooke Castle Museum relies on its dedicated team of approximately 40 volunteers who assist staff with a range of activities and projects, which include:
- Visitor Welcome (Front of House) – providing a warm welcome to all visitors to the museum (seasonally, at the museum)
- Collections Care & Documentation – assisting Curatorial Staff in caring for and cataloguing the museum’s collection of historic artefacts (year round, at the museum)
- Maintenance and Estates – helping to maintain and improve the museum, including public and ‘behind the scenes’ areas (year round, at the museum)
- Community Outreach Volunteer – enabling older people out in the community to engage with museum objects, and to encourage reminiscence (year round, off site)
