Behind the scenes at the museum

Carisbrooke Castle Museum are undertaking a detailed review of collections with the help of specialists and volunteers, Rosie McGlinchey, Pauline Petrie, Anna Stanley, Kate Tiley and Daniel Whitehead.

The project funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund and Fidelity UK will help to find out more about the history and importance of collections, develop themes for future exhibitions and projects and discover the potential for research and interpretation.

Specialists in areas such as costume, ceramics, maritime, military, social history and art will help review approximately 30,000 items in the collections by October 2014.

Staff and volunteers have put together a display of some items highlighted during the review which can be seen at the museum.
